BREAKING: MAGA world melts down after a hilarious bug in Apple’s voice-to-text feature begins accidentally replacing the word “racist” with “Trump.”
Who knew that technology could have a Freudian slip?
The dictation feature has been making the word replacement and then recalibrating quickly to use the correct word but not before subjecting Trumpers to the (admittedly accurate) mistake. Predictably, they are enraged.
Apple says that it’s rolling out the fix but The Daily Beast tested the bug earlier today and saw that it was still happening. Apple blamed the error on “r” letter in both words.
X is now littered with angry responses from Trump supporters—
“Apple hates MAGA and hates Trump,” one wrote.
“Alex Jones is right. If you say ‘racist’ in speech to text on Apple iPhone, it flashes ‘Trump’ Apple… YOU ARE SCUM” raged another.
“Total scum. If I had a dollar in @Apple stock, I WOULD DUMP IT. WHAT PRESIDENT Pardons a person of color that was in prison for years and makes her the damn PARDON CZAR that is racist? APPLE COULD Have fixed this in lightning speed but it is working on all of our phones! Big FU,” wrote on.
“Wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it myself on my iPhone. Who at Apple is juvenile enough to change the word Racist to Trump momentarily when using voice to text? Actually, prob *many*. Grow up & use your skills productively rather than for pranks,” whined one.
As with everything that happens, Trump supporters are convinced that this is a conspiracy to take down their godking rather than simply and honest mistake.
Of course, Donald Trump is absolutely a racist — with a long history of discrimination and bigoted remarks to prove it — but his supporters hate being confronted with reality.
“We are aware of an issue with the speech recognition model that powers Dictation and we are rolling out a fix today,” Apple told the Associated Press.
