Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, the renowned pair known for their roles in “That ’70s Show,” have crafted a unique retreat in the heart of Los Angeles resembling an old barn. Despite their wealth, the couple chose to design their home as a barn, reflecting their preference for simplicity and comfort.
Having exchanged vows in 2015, the couple dedicated five years to creating their Los Angeles residence on a six-acre property. Collaborating with architect Howard Backen and interior designer Vicky Charles, they brought their dream home to life from the ground up.
Since settling into their barn-inspired abode, the high-profile couple has shared various details about the structure. Kunis mentioned that they desired a home, not an extravagant estate, stating, “We wanted the house to look like an old barn, something that had been here for decades, that was then converted into a house. But it also had to feel modern and relevant.”
Before starting the Los Angeles project, Kunis and Kutcher had individual Pinterest boards to outline their vision for the home. Surprisingly, their tastes aligned almost perfectly. Discovering that architect Backen had designed most of the homes they admired, they enlisted his expertise to build their ideal farmhouse.
Their motivation wasn’t just indulging in personal interests; they aimed to create a space suitable for their growing family. Kunis was pregnant with the couple’s first child when construction began, and despite the luxurious touches, the home was designed with family-friendliness in mind.
For Kunis and Kutcher, their home stands as a haven of tranquility, where the couple resides with their two children, savoring every moment of life to the fullest.
